American Paint Horse Association (APHA) registered horse
breeding operation - catering to one of the world's
fastest growing horse breeds, the American
Paint Horse. We're situated in the beautiful equestrian

South Africa. |
Our Herd: Top-Pedigreed Paints Imported
From USA |
All six of our beautiful Paint Horse herd members were imported
into South Africa from the US in 2004/2005. That they look
good is no accident: ALL
have World Champion bloodlines, with superb pedigrees on both
the top and bottom.
Broodmares-of-the-future total four. Our first foals are expected in 2007, with the ultimate aim to produce quality two foals out of our own mares annually. Embryo Transfer (ET) services from our mares are offered selectively to interested customers.
Stallions “Leo” and “Pueblo”, are now available to outside mares annually for the breeding season spanning September through March. All coverings are carried out via Artificial Insemination (AI), and the breeding contracts include a live COLOURED foal guarantee. These boys have scope to produce top quality sport-horses and pleasure horses alike, with sound minds and excellent conformation. Each is guaranteed to be HYPP and HERDA NEGATIVE. Like our four broodmares, these two stallions cannot pass on these undesirable genetic qualities to their offspring.
In addition to breeding, our horses are made available to casting agents for adverts, weddings and birthdays, display and publicity.
Paint Horse: The World's Hottest Breed! |
While Paint Horses are on just becoming known throughout Southern Africa, this breed is among the fastest growing in many countries, including the US, Australia, as well as the UK and throughout Europe. In the US, Paint Horses are the second largest registered breed and the second most transacted breed nation-wide. While historically used as ranch horses and for Western-style events, many of today's top Paint Horses are bred for the show ring, competing in dressage and jumping, driving – even commercial horse racing.
Paint Horse popularity has risen amongst leisure riders, and increasingly, the more serious equestrians. Pedigrees are generally traced back to Quarter Horse roots, and to some extent, Thoroughbred lineages. The Thoroughbred side has added to the neck length, overall height plus endurance. The Quarter Horse genes soften the head and eye, shorten the body, increase bone, add a nice, round hip, and improve patience.
The breed's striking appearance is just part of the allure. Its gentle temperament and willing nature are increasingly sought-after traits for both pleasure as well as competition horses. The end result is a full-sized, athletic horse with a good mind, packed into a one-of-a-kind, eye-catching package
