Rene

Renoir's Red Robin

Our second California girl, "Rene", is the designer model of the herd. This tall, elegant Paint Horse is a big, floaty mover, with a disposition that is all Quarter Horse. This mare is big, fancy, flat-kneed with a nice open shoulder, a gigantic trot and a genuine "rocking horse" canter (as well as a mighty big gallop!). It is a pleasure to watch her move and work with her in the show ring.

Her sire, Reddy Robin, a Champion from a long line of Champions himself, has sired multiple World Champions, including Rene's half- brother, Reddys Review. Reddys Review has earned an incredible 17 World & Reserve Championships in western, English, driving and jumping! This well-heeled gelding is the highest point earning horse in the history of the Paint horse Industry to-date.

Rene represents what so many sport-horse and Paint Horse breeders strive for. With her height potential and eye-catching markings, she is a showpiece for Paint Horse Africa, and we are very pleased to have her in our paddocks. She likely carries at least two overo genes (frame and a sabino gene) making her a prospective high-colour foal producer. Adding to her uniqueness, this marvellous Madam has two marble blue eyes, coming from a long-line of blue-eyed horses on her sire's side.

True to her sire's Quarter Horse genes, she has a great disposition and is a genuinely kind, easy-going mare. And do the markings on her right side spell out the initials her new homeland: "S A"?!

Sire :

Reddy Robin,
1987 APHA, 16.0h sorrel overo. This APHA multiple World Champion sire will go down in Paint Horse history for his consistent ability to throw colourful, leggy, athletic hunter-under-saddle types when bred to Thoroughbred mares. In addition to being outstanding performers, his get are renowned for their willing attitude and easy temperament. This grandson of My Painted Robin is believed to carry all three distinct overo genes (frame, sabino and splashed white), which is why colour shows up in over 80% of his offspring from solid mares.

Apart from Reddy Review, Reddy Robin's successful offspring include Reddy for Josie, a multiple World Champion in Hunter Under Saddle, Go Get Ready, World Show Top 5 Hunter Under Saddle, and APHA Champion, Charismatic. To-date, his foals have earned 8,769 performance points and include 6 World Champions, 10 Reserve World Champions, 30 Superiors, 60 ROMs, 1 APHA Champion and 2 Amateur Versatility Champions! See him on his website ».

Reddy Robin's registration with AQHA is pending under changes in previous restrictions for crop-out QH's (QH's with "excessive white") as his ancestry goes back to a long line of blue-eyed Quarter Horses! This would make Rene eligible for the American Quarter Horse Association appendix registration.

Dam :

Silent Eloquence,
1991 Thoroughbred, 17.1h, chestnut. This gentle giant was never raced, though there are plenty of track horses in her family tree. You do have to go down the pedigree to find any real winners. But she's from a line of tall Thoroughbreds with long, straight legs, a long necks and a big heart girth. She stays on the same southern California farm as Reddy Robin and they have produced a 5+ beautiful foals together. Silent Eloquence has consistently passed her lofty height and elegant movement onto her progeny - as seen in our Rene -- and there is usually a waiting list for her youngsters
