Cezanne's Gold Review
"Su" was the baby of our family and had been one of our best bred horses at Paint Horse Africa. This golden girl had an incredible pedigree on both sides, chalked full of World Champions, as reflected in her perfect halter, Quarter Horse-type conformation. She was, in fact, pure Quarter Horse, descended from crop-outs that were disallowed from AQHA registration, up until 2004. And, she was the hottest horse colour on any continent - palomino! With this, and her unusual overo pattern, Su turned heads wherever she went. This darling girl had a huge hip, baby doll head, a long, slender neck, and was beautifully marked. Both eyes had "eyeliner", with one of these lovely peepers a light blue. Since arrival into South Africa at age 18mos, she already had a massive chest, and a well-muscled apple butt to die for!
Su was loaded with personality and intelligence. She has thus far proven to be unflappable. As testimony to her laid-back nature, she reportedly rested her little head on her stall door aboard the aircraft that brought her into CapeTown, sleeping for most of the journey. This cherished filly had been a perfect nanny for our weanling fillies, keeping a firm-but-gentle check on their activities. She was started under saddle, without so much as a buck or a wobble, and was a joy to ride on the beach, with her white mane and tail tussled by the wind when she burst into a gallop. Su was our "class clown", with her Houdini antics endlessly testing the paddock gates and keeping us on our toes. This dear, sweet filly is very much missed.
