Monet's Impressive Art

Another stunning example of the successful cross of western-type horses with Thoroughbreds - "Mona" is bred to do it all. But with her hunt seat body type, she should excel in jumping and English disciplines. She has proven to be an excellent mare to cross with our homozygous sport-horse stallion, DaVinci's DeLight. In addition, the breeding of these two tobianos has a 50% chance of producing a homozygous-for-tobiano foal, which, in turn, would have the ability to produce 99% colored offspring.

Mona has two full brothers and a full sister, all involved in show jumping. One of her full brothers, Impressive Artifacts (1998), did exceptionally well in the ring when he was shown in his younger days. And we're already impressed at the results of her preliminary training in jumping and dressage.

Sire :

Impressive Art,
1992 APHA, 16.0h, sorrel tobiano. He was named APHA World Champion Trail, Honor Roll Champion Hunter Hack, Trail & Western Pleasure. Impressive Art was also Top Ten at the World Show in Jumping, amidst tough competition. His offspring started showing with success from 2005, with the list of stand-alone records at both national and world Paint Horse and Pinto Horse shows growing longer by the day, placing among the top in hunt-seat categories. Among the growing list of top performing progeny include Art Attack, the increasingly renowned Artfully Zipped and Artfully Designed.

Impressive Art is the grandson of World Champion Quarter Horse Halter Stallion, Impressive, bred to the own daughter of Sonny Go Lucky. He is backed on his dam's side by Grand Champion stallions Fleeting Spook and Tinky's Spook on his dam's side. His dam, Poco Special, has now produced three fials to go to the top Ten at the World Championship Swho, with over 900 performance points. See him on his webpage ».

Searching for Sadie,
Thoroughbred, with a great pedigree. SFS is the great-granddaughter of Bold Ruler (Horse of the Year, sire of Secretariat), Nashua (Horse of the Year, Belmont & Preakness Stakes winner, earned $1.2 million), and Native Dancer (Horse of the Year, Preakness & Belmont Stakes winner). She is granddaughter of Raise A Native, which retired undefeated as a race horse. This mare is believed to have produced four offspring by Impressive Art, three of which were over 16h. Sadly, our Search for Sadie's photo has only enabled us to imagine that she was a tall, straight bay Thoroughbred.
